Festival Fashion 2017

Summer is quickly approaching and so are all of our favorite Chicago music festivals! Tickets are purchased, hotels are booked, transportation is set, but wait, what are you wearing?! Every festival is a little different, as is the fashion, so we've got your quick style guide to some of Chicago's top summer jam fests!

The Chicago Blues Fest (June 9th-11th) attracts over 500,000 fans to the largest free blues festival in the world! This festival features some of the current greats as well as up-and-coming artists within the genre. Being that this festival is earlier in the summer season, it is super easy to play with different layers and have the freedom to dress as you please. Our look incorporates a great basic denim in a darker wash paired with a romantic cami that features a little bit of lace detail. We're all about keeping accessories and footwear as lightweight as possible with a couple layered bracelets, flip flops with a little shine, and the perfect sized handbag.

Spring Awakening (June 9th-11th), our second major Chicago festival featured, hosts a wide array of over 100 highly coveted acts across the electronic music spectrum. This particular festival tends to draw more adventurous fashion statement-making crowd. With that being said, we're taking the plunge with a deep-V bodysuit paired with some distressed cut-offs to really embrace the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) vibe. An eye catching choker is a MUST, and we've layered it with a necklace that drapes down into the V-neck. Warning: personal space is not an option at this festival, so the lighter the accessories the better! To finish off this look, we're taking a nude flip flop and a cream colored Hobo wallet for only the essentials!

Pitchfork (July 14th-16th), our third festival, is more of an eclectic gathering of performers across multiple genres, as well as artists and foodies alike. From electronic and dance music to alternative rock, and even to some hardcore punk, this festival can bring out the hipster in all of us. Our look for this three day celebration of all things ultra-cool, mixes a collection of great basics as well as trendy pieces. We've started with an off white, distressed cut off denim short (I mean it is July in Chicago - we've got to stay cool!) and topped it with a crew neck tank and lacy bralette. And in the spirit of Pitchfork, we're breaking the mold of a sandal and pairing a new, and super cool ankle wrap bootie. Perfectly layered necklaces, sunnies, and a compact fringe backpack are utilized to wrap up our hipster look.

And lastly, it's never too early to plan for Lollapalooza (August 3rd-6th)!! Music lovers and festival freaks alike, come together to celebrate Lolla each year in Chicago's Grant Park in the heart of the city. By this time in festival season the temps have climbed and staying "cool" has a different meaning for everyone. Our Lolla look, combines the best of both meanings of "cool". A dress is a MUST, and this printed, strappy dress is the perfect fit, paired with an accent bralette. Being that the print and color palette leans on the bolder side, our sandals, layered necklaces, bracelet, and fun fringed leather handbag all fall within the same cognac color family.

Your looks are endless this season, and it's never too early to prepare! Whether you're a one day beginner or a full-on three day groupie, our stylists are ready to keep you on the cutting edge of festival fashion while also bringing the function.

Let fashion reign this festival season!

xoxo,
